Our award-winning and Institute of Hospitality endorsed trainee schemes for homeless and vulnerably housed people are open to those currently experiencing mental health and substance misuse issues.
Who is it for?
Our 10 week catering course is perfect for those with little or no catering experience, but we also have a fast track 4 week course for those with previous experience in the catering industry.
What’s involved?
Trainees will learn catering skills by preparing fresh ingredients to make a variety of different cultural dishes from scratch and support our kitchen to deliver our lunch service. While doing this they will learn about health and hygiene, customer service skills, time management and nutrition. Trainees also get the opportunity to take part in culinary workshops run by trained chefs at the 5* Andaz Hotel Liverpool Street. You will need to commit to a minimum of two sessions a week (either breakfast or lunch sessions) as well as attend a session on Friday to complete the Level 2 Food Hygiene online assessment. Trainees can join at any time.
