Providence Row is hosting the official launch of its Learning Programme on Friday 7th February 2014. The Learning Programme is our exciting new service for people who are rough sleeping, homeless or vulnerably housed. It is open to people with current or recent mental health and substance misuse issues and is a part of Providence Row’s Recovery and Progression Services.
Clients and staff from local organisations who work with prospective clients of Providence Row will attend. The launch starts at 11:00am and staff involved in the Learning Programme will talk through the different opportunities on offer with visitors and clients.
The event will be a chance for visitors to see our Learning Programme in action! Artwork by clients in our Art group will be on display in our activity rooms and there will be a performance by our Music group at 11.30am. A buffet lunch for clients and visitors will also be served from 12:30pm. The launch will signal the start of our exciting collaboration with Cardboard Citizens, who will be performing the play ‘Glasshouse’ in our art room at 1:30pm. Places at the performance are strictly limited and clients will get priority on the day.
Our Learning Programme offers a wide range of activities including an English class, Art group, Music group, Employment Support workshop, Gardening group, I.T. group, Substance Misuse Peer Support group and a Leadership and Interpersonal skills workshop. These activities give people the chance to develop their skills and knowledge as well as the opportunity to rediscover existing talents. The Learning Programme aims to increase people’s employability and life chances, lead to improved health and wellbeing and reduce social exclusion.
